It's been a busy week for the Denbigh Harriers running club.

Five Denbigh Harriers joined 160 fell runners for the third fell race in the Tuesday Evening Fell Series.

The challenge this time, in glorious sunshine was to run 3.2 miles from Dwygyfylchi ascending 896ft to the summit of Moel Lus, descending swiftly down and around the mountain back to the village.

Dafydd Evans was first Harrier home in 26:45, followed by Emma Collins who, despite a tumble on a rocky path, finished as first F60, smashing the previous F60 record in 34:42. Lee Evans, strong on the up-hills finished in 36:24 and less than a minute behind finishing in 37:21 was Peter Lester -Owen who had completed Manchester Marathon two days previously.

Menai Baugh, enjoying the stunning sea and mountain views finished 132nd in 40:34.

Melina Morris ran the SheUltra in Penllyn on Saturday - the first event of its kind, a women only Ultramarathon and a fundraiser for women with cancer. This scenic 50k route took the 550 female runners from Pwllheli along the coast of Penllyn to the finish in Abersoch and unusually had no cut-off time which meant that it was accessible to all - Mel had a great run finishing 12th overall in 5:59:28.

Sunday, saw four fortunate Denbigh Harriers on the start line of the London Marathon.

Catherine Tudor-Jones, an experienced London marathoner, had a brilliant run finishing in an impressive 3:21:02.

Peter Lester-Owen also had a great run - only a week after running the Manchester Marathon - finishing in 4:42:30. Liza Francis, running her first ever marathon, crossed the line in a brilliant 4:47:15, with Rebekah Dumayne finishing strongly in 5:50:43.
